Black Friends

, acrylic on board, 20" x 10", 1966

I remember starting with color in grade school. Colored pencils were IT! Then I was introduced to watercolors. The small painting “Holy Family” was done as a Christmas card for my grandparents. All of the painting styles shown are what I went through to reach my own style years later. All mediums were used and practiced over and over. Pastels came in 9th grade along with proper oil painting instruction. The college years were a huge learning curve for me….acrylic paint, casein, pen and ink, more oils and watercolors.  I was very fortunate to have the drive to pursue my painting passion throughout my life. Living by my brush, creating things that others can use and enjoy is a fine life for an artist.
