Cami Thompson has been painting since she was 13 years old (see Holy Family).
Her education at several universities in Michigan included fine arts and commercial arts courses. After a successful career as a fashion designer and craft kit entrepreneur, she decided in the mid-1990s to concentrate on oil painting. She has worked en plein air in Alaska, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Love, Light and the Pursuit of Art, Cami's one-artist exhibit, hangs in the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House until December 4, 2014. Her show includes recent florals, landscapes, and wildlife canvases.
