Garden Party

, Oil on Linen, 22" x 24"

I enjoy painting all varieties of flowers. Each of them have their unique shapes and petals. We grow dahlias in our Southwestern garden in northern NM. Creating the shapes and the depth in each bloom with paint is an amazing process. The simple shape of a rose is done completely differently. Florals bring light, color and excitement to an interior space. I feel paintings should be interesting to look at as well as provide a window into another world. I hope I achieve this with my flower paintings.
