Landscapes: Seascapes

The first time I painted in Alaska was initially totally disarming. Fearing I had not brought enough blue and green paint, just looking at the ocean was very daunting to me. How to capture that light and that movement was my challenge. After a few attempts I saw that the sky and sea completely imitated one another in all the different types of weather. Creating a pleasing composition became a lot of fun. Painting water is wonderful and takes the painter to some of the most beautiful places on earth.
